A senior representative of Azerbaijan’s state energy company SOCAR held discussions on April 9 with the head of Uzbekistan’s national oil and gas firm Uzbekneftegaz on broadening bilateral cooperation.

SOCAR Vice President Arzu Javadova met with Uzbekneftegaz Chairman Abdugani Sanginov during a visit to Uzbekistan, The Caspian Post reports, citing SOCAR.

During the meeting, both sides assessed the current level of cooperation and considered prospects for its further expansion.

The two officials welcomed what they described as the “dynamic” development of relations between their companies, noting that this progress reflects the broader strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.

The discussions also addressed advancements in a joint geological exploration initiative in the Ustyurt region, along with other areas of shared interest, the statement said.
