Moldova's FlyOne Opens Direct Air Link to Georgia's Batumi

Low-cost airline FlyOne has launched a new direct route connecting Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, with Georgia's Black Sea resort city of Batumi, expanding travel options between the two countries during the busy summer season.

According to TAV Georgia, the operator of Tbilisi and Batumi international airports, the airline will operate the Chisinau-Batumi-Chisinau route three times a week throughout the summer schedule, The Caspian Post reports via Sputnik Georgia.

Flights are currently available on Mondays and Thursdays, with an additional Wednesday service set to begin on July 14.

Batumi International Airport welcomed the inaugural flight with a ceremonial reception for arriving passengers, marking the start of the new service.

The first flight from Chisinau carried 182 passengers aboard an Airbus A320, while the return flight from Batumi to Chisinau transported 161 passengers, highlighting strong initial demand for the new route.
