Tbilisi Mayor Draws Parallels Between Protests in Georgia and France

Tbilisi Mayor and Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia Secretary-General Kakha Kaladze has accused European representatives of orchestrating and supporting unrest in Georgia, arguing that similar turmoil is now affecting European countries themselves.

Kaladze made the remarks while commenting on events in France, according to TASS.

“The trouble they [the Europeans] organized in Georgia was not an accidental process. All of this happened with their funding. Of course, now everything is completely exposed. Everyone knows everything, I mean society knows who did what in relation to Georgia. Today, the misfortune they caused in Georgia is happening in their own country,” Kaladze said.

The Georgian politician also recalled that European officials had visited Georgia in recent years, while foreign ambassadors had supported protesters, financed them and attended anti-government demonstrations.

“This was a complete catastrophe,” he added.
