Tbilisi Mayor: Georgia Ready to Rebuild Strong and Friendly Ties with US

Tbilisi Mayor and Secretary General of the Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia party, Kakha Kaladze, has emphasized that the Georgian government places high importance on its strategic and friendly partnership with the US and is fully prepared to restore and deepen relations.

Speaking to journalists, Kaladze reaffirmed Georgia’s long-standing position, The Caspian Post reports via local media.

“We are prepared to start relations with the US on a clean slate, deepen them, and make them genuinely friendly,” he said.

He noted that, amid ongoing global tensions, Georgia is currently observing developments closely.

“US President Donald Trump made two major promises - to end wars and expose the ‘deep state.’ While the wars are not yet over, the process is underway. We can already see how the ‘deep state’ orchestrates coup attempts in multiple countries, funding them through non-governmental organizations. The most important goal is to establish peace, and we wish peace for Ukraine,” he said.

Kaladze added that a Trump administration could open a “new phase” in the US-Georgia relations, signaling opportunities for closer cooperation and renewed diplomatic engagement.
