Araqchi Urges Boost in Tehran-Tbilisi Cooperation

Iran's foreign minister emphasized the importance of strengthening relations with Georgia, describing their bilateral ties as significant and calling for expanded cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Abbas Araqchi made the remarks in a meeting with Iran’s new ambassador to Georgia, held in Tehran on Sunday, The Caspian Post reports, citing foreign media.

The new envoy, Ali Mojani, outlined his proposed plans aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Tehran and Tbilisi and expanding cooperation between the two countries across various fields.

Araqchi, while wishing success for the ambassador in Tbilisi, described relations between Iran and Georgia as historical and important.

He also stressed the necessity of enhancing interactions and cooperation in all areas of interest to both sides.

Araqchi noted that the Caucasus region provides a suitable ground for the formation of a complementary regional economy based on the synergy of capacities, with the aim of securing balanced benefits for all parties involved.
