Claims that the explosion in Bandar Abbas, southern Iran, targeted IRGC Navy commander Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri are not accurate.

An informed source has denied rumors of such a killing in the Bandar Abbas incident, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.

Social media had earlier circulated reports suggesting Tangsiri was the target.

The blast hit an eight-story building, destroying two floors, several shops, and damaging nearby vehicles. Firefighters and rescue teams were dispatched to the scene.
