At least three explosions were heard in the eastern area of Tehran, the Iranian capital.

Throughout the night and into Saturday morning, there have been explosions across the city, including the Ekbatan district and the Olympic Village, The Caspian Post reports, citing foreign media.

Earlier, Israel announced that it had launched several strikes in Tehran on the first day of Nowruz and Eid al-Fitr.

There were no immediate reports on casualties from the strikes.
