Iran will temporarily close the airspace over Tehran on the day of the funeral for the country's former Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, as authorities prepare for the state ceremony.
The closure will take effect on July 6, when the funeral is scheduled to take place, The Caspian Post reports via IRIB.
Hossein Pourfarzaneh, head of Iran's Civil Aviation Organization and deputy minister of roads and urban development, said the capital's airspace will be completely shut during the ceremony.
All civilian flights to and from Tehran will be suspended for the duration of the funeral to ensure security and facilitate the large-scale state events.
