Iran’s Army has unveiled its latest unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) as part of efforts to expand its drone capabilities and improve operational performance.

Meanwhile, the Arash drone has undergone a new series of upgrades, including doubling its warhead weight from 50 to 100 kilograms, enhancing navigation systems and developing new variants, The Caspian Post reports, citing WANA.

The Arash, one of the Iranian Army’s established drone platforms, has received several technical improvements in its latest version. These include greater targeting precision through the use of artificial intelligence and the development of a variant powered by a jet engine.

An Army drone expert said the Arash had evolved into an extensive family of UAVs, with different models offering a range of operational capabilities.

The expert also highlighted the increased diversity of navigation systems that function independently of GPS. In addition, the drone’s warhead has been upgraded to incorporate high-explosive materials intended to increase the damage inflicted on targets.

According to the information released, increasing the warhead weight from 50 to 100 kilograms has doubled the drone’s explosive payload capacity.

The Arash drone has previously been used in Operations True Promise and Thunderbolt.
