Iran has claimed that its military launched drone strikes against U.S. forces and military logistics centers in Kuwait, marking another sharp escalation in regional tensions.

The strikes were carried out as part of the twelfth phase of Operation Lightning, using Iran's destructive Arash drones. The Iranian Army said the attack targeted U.S. forces and logistics facilities stationed in Kuwait, describing it as a retaliatory response to recent American military actions, The Caspian Post reports via Fars news agency.

The announcement came hours after the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) reported conducting a new wave of strikes against Iran.

Iranian media also reported explosions near Bandar Abbas and Qeshm Island, while attacks were said to have hit Ahvaz, Bushehr, Bandar Khomeyni, Bandar Lengeh, Veysian, Chabahar, and Iranshahr Airport.
