On Thursday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian ordered the inauguration of the country's largest oil processing unit, the Central Treatment and Export Plant (CTEP), in West Karun, Ahvaz, through a videoconference.
As the largest central processing unit in the country, Central Treatment and Export Plant (CTEP) is one of the strategic infrastructures of the National Iranian Oil Company in the West Karun fields, which was designed and implemented with the aim of creating a sustainable capacity for processing, transporting, and stabilizing crude oil from the South Azadegan Oilfield and other neighboring fields, The Caspian Post reports, citing Mehr news.
This project is a link between production and development phases of West Karun and plays a key role in achieving sustainable and safe oil production from the joint fields.
This project is the main artery for processing and transporting oil from West Karun. The importance of CTEP goes beyond South Azadegan Field and provides a platform for increasing production in other fields in the region.
In the inaugural ceremony of this giant project, President Pezeshkian hailed the unflinching and nonstop efforts of expert engineers and specialists at the Ministry of Petroleum, expressing hope that the ministry would materialize its objectives in the relevant field.
