Iran has warned that it may take military action if Israel does not put an end to its ongoing airstrikes in Lebanon, according to a statement issued by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

In its statement, the IRGC delivered a strong warning to both the US and Israel, accusing them of continuing aggressive actions in the region, The Caspian Post reports, citing Iranian media.

It said that if the attacks on Lebanon are not halted immediately, Iran would “carry out its duty” by launching a forceful response.

The IRGC further described the Israeli strikes on Beirut as a “massacre,” emphasizing that the attacks were carried out just hours after a ceasefire agreement had come into force.

The Iranian military also accused Israel of intentionally targeting civilians, including women and children, in the course of the strikes.
