Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned the United Arab Emirates that locations used by the United States could become “legitimate targets” following US strikes on Iran’s Kharg Island.

In a statement, the IRGC said it considers it a legitimate right to defend the country’s sovereignty and territory by targeting the launch points of what it described as American missiles, The Caspian Post reports, citing Al Jazeera.

According to the statement, these targets could include shipping ports, docks and locations where US military personnel are present in some cities in the UAE.

The IRGC also called on residents and people living near ports, docks and US military areas in the UAE to evacuate those locations in order to avoid potential harm.
