Iranian Airlines Continue Flights to Armenia, Russia, China and Türkiye

Iranian airlines continue to operate flights to Armenia, Russia, China and Türkiye, Ramin Kashefazar, director general of Imam Khomeini International Airport, said.

According to the online departures and arrivals board at Yerevan’s Zvartnots International Airport, two aircraft from Tehran are scheduled to arrive in Yerevan today, Sputnik Armenia reports.

New US sanctions targeting Iran’s aviation sector took effect on September 23. Under the restrictions, airports and companies providing services to Iranian carriers could face the risk of being excluded from the US dollar-based financial system.

Earlier, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Oman, the United Arab Emirates and Iraq closed their airspace or airports to Iranian carriers.
