European Parliament President Roberta Metsola announced on Monday that she has decided to bar all diplomatic staff and other representatives of Iran from entering any European Parliament premises.
Metsola took this decision in a show of support for protesters in Iran, The Caspian Post reports.
"This House will not aid in legitimising this regime that has sustained itself through torture, repression and murder," Metsola wrote on X.
She emphasized the parliament’s stance against Iran’s leadership and its treatment of demonstrators.
It cannot be business as usual.
