Israel said on Saturday that it carried out strikes on key military-related facilities in Tehran, including the country’s main space research center and a factory involved in producing air defense systems.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, the targeted space research facility housed laboratories used for scientific work as well as for developing military satellites designed for surveillance, intelligence gathering and fire direction across the Middle East, The Caspian Post reports, citing Iranian media.

The Israeli military also said it struck several locations linked to Iran’s air defense production network, including a major factory responsible for manufacturing air defense systems.

The IDF added that the operation forms part of a wider campaign aimed at weakening what it described as Iran’s core military infrastructure.
