US President Donald Trump said that Iran had agreed to never again shut the Strait of Hormuz, The Caspian Post reports.
"Iran has agreed to never close the Strait of Hormuz again. It will no longer be used as a weapon against the World," Trump said on his Truth Social network.
On Friday, Iran declared the Strait of Hormuz fully open to commercial shipping during a ceasefire period linked to the Israel-Lebanon conflict, easing tensions in one of the world’s most critical energy transit routes.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that all commercial vessels will be allowed to pass through the strait, though under a “coordinated route” system designated by Iranian maritime authorities.
