The Trump administration has rebuffed attempts by Middle Eastern allies to start diplomatic talks aimed at ending the US-Israel conflict.
Iran, meanwhile, has rejected any possibility of a ceasefire until US and Israeli strikes stop, The Caspian Post reports via foreign media.
Several countries had reportedly tried to mediate a halt to the fighting, but no agreement has been reached.
A senior White House official confirmed that Trump is focused on continuing military operations to weaken Tehran’s capabilities. “He’s not interested in that right now, and we’re going to continue with the mission unabated,” the official said.
Another official added: “President Trump said new potential leadership in Iran has indicated they want to talk and eventually will talk. For now, Operation Epic Fury continues unabated.”
Efforts by Iran’s top security official, Ali Larijani, and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to use Oman as a conduit for ceasefire discussions involving US Vice President JD Vance reportedly did not materialize.
