Donald Trump on Thursday set a 10-day timeframe to determine whether the United States will continue diplomatic efforts with Iran or move toward military action.

Speaking during a Gaza Board of Peace meeting in Washington, Trump said a decision on the next steps could come within “probably 10 days,” The Caspian Post reports, citing Axios.

“Now we may have to take it a step further or we may not. Maybe we are going to make a deal [with Iran]. You are going to be finding out over the next probably 10 days,” he stated.

The president convened his top advisers on Wednesday to review the ongoing crisis with Iran. During the meeting, he was briefed on the latest round of nuclear negotiations held earlier this week in Geneva, and participants discussed possible next steps.

Trump described the talks as having gone well but stressed that Iran must agree to what he called “a meaningful deal,” warning that “otherwise bad things will happen.”
