The US has again imposed restrictions on Iran’s official delegation traveling to New York to attend the UN General Assembly session.

Iranian officials will be barred from accessing wholesale markets and retail stores selling luxury goods, according to dpa.

The US introduced similar restrictions on Iran’s delegation in 2025. Iranian officials have also previously faced criticism over purchases made during visits to the US.

Four years ago, members of former Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi’s delegation were criticized after a truck reportedly left the US carrying household appliances, children’s diapers, dietary supplements and souvenirs.
