Kazakh Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Madiyar Menilbekov met with Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistic Services Saleh Al-Jasser to discuss ways to deepen bilateral transport and logistics cooperation.

According to the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said, during Sunday’s meeting, the sides welcomed the signing on August 26, 2026, of an agreement between the governments of Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia on air services, The Caspian Post reported.

They highlighted the agreement’s importance in strengthening bilateral ties, noting that it will provide a foundation for expanding direct air connectivity, increasing passenger and cargo traffic, and creating new opportunities for trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as tourism and people-to-people contacts.

The officials also discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in the transport and logistics sector, including transit transportation, the development of transport corridors and logistics infrastructure, and the use of both countries’ transit potential to increase cargo volumes and facilitate access to new markets.

The sides expressed interest in strengthening contacts between relevant government agencies and representatives of the two countries’ transport and logistics business communities.

They reaffirmed their readiness to ensure the effective implementation of existing agreements and give further impetus to practical cooperation in the transport sector.

Following the meeting, the sides agreed to maintain working-level contacts to further strengthen Kazakhstan-Saudi Arabia cooperation.
