Baku and Astana are preparing a joint project to develop the Caspian Sea, with Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan planning to establish a joint dredging venture.
The initiative is outlined in the draft resolution of the Kazakh government titled “On signing the cooperation agreement for the development of the Middle Corridor”, The Caspian Post reports via KazTAG.
The document was prepared following instructions from Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev after his visit to Azerbaijan on March 11-12, 2024.
According to the draft, the agreement is expected to boost development of the Middle Corridor and expand transport and logistics cooperation between the two countries once it enters into force.
