Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan Prioritize Economic Cooperation

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Kazakhstan Aghalar Atamoglanov has said that Azerbaijan sees economic cooperation as a key priority in its partnership with Kazakhstan.

He highlighted that areas such as mutual trade and investment, joint industrial production, multimodal transport, energy, tourism, and agriculture will receive special attention in the coming years, The Caspian Post reports via local media.

Recent high-level meetings indicate that cooperation will enter a new phase in ICT, innovation, digital communications, renewable energy, green transition, and environmental protection.

As part of the “Digital Silk Way” project, a fiber-optic line under the Caspian Sea is expected to be completed by late 2026, creating a reliable digital telecom corridor between Europe and Asia. Atamoglanov stressed the need to accelerate regional projects and explore new initiatives.

The ambassador also noted that the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan Investment Fund will provide a strong impetus for mutually beneficial investment projects.

He emphasized that in 2026, one of the key priorities should remain the development of people-to-people ties, which form a strong foundation for economic, political, and cultural partnerships.

Additionally, expanding cooperation in culture, education, science, and youth exchanges, as well as political dialogue and mutual support in international organizations, will be essential. Atamoglanov underlined the importance of continuous engagement between government bodies and businesses and participation in international events in both countries.
