Azerbaijani Defense Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, is on a visit to Kazakhstan for a working session of the Council of Defense Ministers of CIS member states.
The visit underscores ongoing efforts to strengthen military cooperation across the Commonwealth of Independent States, The Caspian Post reports via the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry.
During the talks, the ministers emphasized the importance of expanding defense partnerships, enhancing joint training initiatives, and deepening coordination between the armed forces of both nations.
As part of the official program, Hasanov and other senior military officials from participating countries visited the 28 Panfilov Guardsmen Park in Almaty, where they laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame monument in honor of the fallen heroes.
The meeting itself focused on current military collaboration and future strategic initiatives within the CIS framework. The discussions concluded with a formal signing ceremony, during which participating countries ratified key documents aimed at enhancing defense cooperation and coordination among member states.
