A police officer in Kazakhstan was assaulted by a drunken mob, with video of the attack circulating on social media.

The footage shows three individuals attacking and repeatedly punching the uniformed officer, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kazakh media.

Even after he fell to the ground, the attackers continued to kick him.

The incident reportedly began when the officer asked the group to quiet down. In response, the three individuals physically assaulted him. Children present at the scene were not harmed. The officer is currently receiving outpatient medical treatment.

The Kostanay Regional Police Department confirmed that all attackers were identified and detained at the scene.

A criminal case has been opened for assault on a government official, and authorities stated that each perpetrator will be held fully accountable.
