Georgia Extradites Criminal Suspect to Kazakhstan

The Kazakh General Prosecutor’s Office has announced that a Russian national suspected of heinous crimes was extradited from Georgia to Kazakhstan.

In 2022, the suspect was involved in kidnapping individuals and forcibly seizing their property in Almaty, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

“He evaded justice for more than three years and was on the international wanted list. In September, at the request of Kazakhstan’s General Prosecutor’s Office, he was detained and returned to a pre-trial detention facility. He now faces 7 to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property,” the statement said.
