Kabul and Astana Hold Talks to Strengthen Bilateral Relations

Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, met with Yerkin Tokumov, Director of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies, to discuss enhancing bilateral relations, the ministry said in a recent statement.

According to the statement, both sides discussed Afghanistan’s reconstruction, infrastructure development, agriculture, trade, and e-governance. Muttaqi emphasized the enhancement of positive engagement, political ties, as well as economic and trade collaborations between Kabul and Astana, The Caspian Post reports citing foreign media.

Meanwhile, Tokumov stated his visit aimed to present the on-ground realities of Afghanistan to the President and citizens of Kazakhstan. According to the statement, the two sides added that with shared interests in developing trade routes, improving infrastructure, and enhancing economic integration, both nations stand to benefit from closer collaboration
