Kazakh FM Makes First Official Visit to Russia

Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev has arrived in Moscow for his first official visit to Russia.

He began his visit by laying flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on Red Square, paying tribute to fallen soldiers, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.

Kosherbayev is scheduled to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to discuss key areas of bilateral cooperation.

Trade between Kazakhstan and Russia hit $28 billion in 2024, marking a 3 per cent year-on-year increase, driven by rising imports from Russia.

As of 2025, the two countries are collaborating on 171 joint projects valued at $53 billion.

Earlier, the presidents of Kazakhstan and Russia held a phone conversation to reaffirm strategic ties.
