On the sidelines of the Aqaba Process Summit on West Africa, Kazakh Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev has met with Italy’s Vice-President of the Council of Ministers and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, where they agreed to deepen cooperation across key sectors including energy, green technologies, mechanical engineering, agro-industry, education, science, and infrastructure development.
During the talks, Kosherbayev emphasized the importance Kazakhstan places on its longstanding relationship with Italy, describing Italy as a reliable and trusted partner within Europe, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
Tajani reaffirmed Italy’s readiness to deepen trade, economic, and investment ties with Kazakhstan. He highlighted Italy’s position as one of Kazakhstan’s main strategic partners in the EU and its largest trade and economic partner among Southern European countries. Bilateral trade between the two nations is expected to reach $20 billion in 2024. Kazakhstan, for its part, remains a key partner for Italy in Central Asia, with considerable energy resources and investment potential.
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to continue constructive dialogue and enhance joint efforts aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Italy.
Earlier at the summit, Kosherbayev also held discussions with Jordanian and other international leaders.
