Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova has announced that Kazakhstan’s newly appointed Foreign Minister, Yermek Kosherbayev, will visit Russia next week for official talks covering political relations, trade and economic partnerships, and cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

Scheduled for October 22, Kosherbayev will meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to discuss a wide range of bilateral cooperation issues, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

The agenda will cover political relations, trade and economic partnerships, as well as cultural and humanitarian collaboration.

Zakharova highlighted that the two ministers will also focus on preparation for the upcoming state visit of Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Russia, aiming to further strengthen ties between the two neighboring countries.

In addition to bilateral matters, the foreign ministers are expected to coordinate their positions on key regional and global issues.
