Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed a decree relieving Berik Sholpankulov of his position as Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Kazakhstan.
Sholpankulov was dismissed in accordance with his submitted resignation, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Born on March 4, 1976, in the Almaty region, Sholpankulov graduated from the Kazakh State Agrarian University in 1996 with a degree in economics and accounting. He later earned a master’s degree in Military and Public Administration from the National Defense University in 2016.
He began his professional career in 1996 within Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Finance system, holding various treasury positions related to cash management and public debt oversight. Between 2001 and 2008, he served in multiple senior roles at the Finance Ministry.
Sholpankulov went on to serve as Vice Minister of Finance, Deputy Minister of Defense for Economics and Finance, and Chairman of the Financial Monitoring Committee of the Ministry of Finance. In 2019, he was appointed First Vice Minister of Finance before taking on the role of Deputy Chairman of the National Bank in April 2021.
