Kazakh National Library Acquires Priceless Manuscripts from Cultural Custodian

The Kazakh National Library has received a significant collection of manuscripts from the personal archive of public figure and cultural heritage custodian Akan Tanzharykuly.

The presentation took place during the second session of the Association of Kazakhstan Manuscript Researchers, which brought together leading historians, orientalists, library specialists, and young scholars dedicated to the study and preservation of historical manuscripts, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

The event focused on exploring, preserving, and promoting Kazakhstan’s manuscript heritage. Discussions also addressed methodological and legal frameworks for manuscript research, as well as current trends in the development of contemporary manuscript studies. Participants exchanged insights on pressing issues related to manuscript preservation, conservation, and practical use.

Among the notable works showcased was The Healing Tradition by Sultan Ali Tibba al-Khorasani, published through the initiative of the Written Heritage and Spiritual Culture Research Center at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

In a special addition, the library acquired a rare artifact: an 11th-century map depicting the ancient capital of the Oghuz tribe, further enhancing Kazakhstan’s rich cultural and historical legacy.
