Kazakh President Champions AI and Education Cooperation with Beijing University

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has held a meeting with Duan Peng, President of the Beijing Language and Culture University, to discuss cooperation in AI development, scientific research, education, and the training of specialists in Chinese linguistics.

President Tokayev highlighted that the recent opening of the university’s branch campus in Astana is a key milestone in Kazakhstan-China academic cooperation, serving as a symbol of strengthened humanitarian ties and the creation of intellectual bridges between the two nations, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Duan Peng briefed the Kazakh president on plans for joint projects in applied linguistics and digital learning, emphasizing opportunities to expand educational exchange and collaborative initiatives.

Earlier in the day, President Tokayev participated in the second International Forum of Strategic Partners, titled “Kazakhstan is a Territory of Academic Knowledge”, which brought together leaders of major foreign universities and representatives of international rating and accreditation agencies to discuss global trends in higher education and academic collaboration.
