Kazakh President Concludes Successful Official Visit to China

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has wrapped up his official visit to the People’s Republic of China.

During the visit, President Tokayev attended a grand military parade in Beijing and participated in the 8th meeting of the Kazakhstan-China Business Council, alongside Ding Xuexiang, First Vice Premier of the State Council of China and member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese Communist Party’s Central Committee, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

In his address, President Tokayev emphasized China’s role as a reliable neighbor, close friend, and long-term strategic partner of Kazakhstan. He noted that Chinese investments in the Kazakh economy have reached $27 billion and highlighted plans to increase the throughput capacity of the China-Europe transit corridor via Kazakhstan fivefold. The president also outlined priority areas for cooperation, including energy, economic diversification, organic production, artificial intelligence, and financial sector collaboration.

The Business Council concluded with the signing of more than 70 agreements valued at over $15 billion, reflecting the growing depth of the Kazakhstan-China economic ties.

As part of the visit, President Tokayev inaugurated a plant for essential wind turbine components in Kazakhstan’s Zhambyl region via videoconference and held high-level meetings with leading Chinese business and financial figures, including CNPC Chairman Dai Houliang, AIIB President Jin Liqun, Huawei Board Chairman Liang Hua, China Energy Engineering Group Director General Ni Zhen, and CNNC General Director Shen Yanfeng.

The visit ended with the opening ceremony of the Kazakh Cultural Center in Beijing, reinforcing the cultural and diplomatic partnership between Kazakhstan and China.
