Armenian news portal Zarkerak.am has reported that President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is being recognized for his pivotal role in the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

The Kazakh leader is described as a “balanced and constructive leader” whose mediation efforts are helping foster peace in the South Caucasus, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.

According to the article, the recent positive developments between the two countries are not only the result of political will on both sides but also the mediation efforts of several countries, with Kazakhstan playing a notable role.

Mktrich Israelian, the author, highlights initiatives supported by Tokayev, such as opening transit routes between Armenia and Azerbaijan and practical cooperation like supplying Kazakhstan’s wheat to Armenia, which strengthens food security.

“Kassym-Jomart Tokayev can be seen as a calm yet powerful bridge that both Yerevan and Baku can walk across toward peace,” the author writes.

The article also emphasizes the historical, cultural, and economic commonalities shared by Armenia and Kazakhstan, now reaching new heights thanks to Tokayev’s balanced and proactive foreign policy.
