Kazakh President Marks Milestone with Inauguration of Kazakh Cultural Centre in Beijing

During his visit to Beijing, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev attended the inauguration of the Kazakh Cultural Centre in China, describing the event as a landmark moment for the spiritual and cultural ties between the two nations.

“This is a historic occasion reflecting the deep respect of the Kazakh people for the Chinese people and a testament to China’s friendly stance toward Kazakhstan. I sincerely thank President Xi Jinping for supporting this initiative, as well as China’s Minister of Culture and Tourism, Sun Yeli, and all the citizens of both countries who contributed. I am especially pleased that my longtime Chinese friends, diplomats, Professor Liu Shiqin, and representatives of the intellectual community are present today. Stronger cultural and humanitarian ties strengthen our friendship-art and culture are the golden bridge uniting nations,” President Tokayev emphasized, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

He also highlighted the growth of educational and cultural collaboration, noting that last year a branch of Beijing Language and Culture University opened in Astana, and that during this visit, the second and third Luban Workshops were inaugurated in Kazakhstan.

“The Kazakhstan-China relations are progressing steadily. We have entered the second ‘golden 30th anniversary’ of bilateral cooperation. High-level meetings and negotiations are held successfully each year. Our mutual trade turnover reached a record $44 billion last year, and we expect this positive trend to continue. China remains Kazakhstan’s largest trade and investment partner. Our countries’ positions on international matters largely align, reaffirming that Kazakhstan and China are enduring strategic partners. This aligns with the national interests of both nations,” President Tokayev noted.
