Kazakh President, OPEC Head Discuss Global Oil Outlook and Cooperation

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has held high-level talks with OPEC Secretary General Haitham Al Ghais to address current trends in the global oil market and explore deeper cooperation.

During their meeting, President Tokayev lauded OPEC’s efforts to uphold stability and predictability in global oil markets amid volatility and uncertainty, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

He described Al Ghais’s visit as a meaningful gesture toward enhancing constructive dialogue between Kazakhstan and OPEC.

President Tokayev reiterated that Kazakhstan backs the OPEC+ decision to gradually increase oil production, while emphasizing that such increases must be consistent with preserving the country’s strategic interests.

The two leaders also discussed ways to build greater resilience in regional energy systems, highlighting the need to strike a balance between the priorities of oil-producing and hydrocarbon-importing nations.

Separately, President Tokayev extended warm congratulations to Lee Jae Myung and the people of South Korea on the occasion of their National Day.
