Kazakh track and field athlete Kristina Ovchinnikova has secured a spot in the women’s high jump final at the 2025 Summer Universiade, currently underway in Germany.
Representing Kazakhstan’s team, Ovchinnikova delivered a strong performance during the qualification round, earning her place among the top contenders for the final, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
Meanwhile, Elizaveta Matveyeva, another Kazakh athlete competing in the same event, was unable to advance to the final stage.
The women’s high jump final is scheduled to take place on July 26, where Ovchinnikova will compete for a podium finish and aim to bring home a medal for Kazakhstan.
