Kazakhstan Attends UN Forum Promoting Peace and Tolerance

Kazakhstan has taken part in the 11th Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Senator Darkhan Kydyrali represented Kazakhstan at the international forum and delivered a congratulatory message from Senate Chairman Maulen Ashimbayev to UN High Representative Miguel Ángel Moratinos on the Alliance’s 20th anniversary, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Moratinos highlighted the significance of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Astana, chaired by the President of Kazakhstan, and expressed gratitude to the Senate leadership.

At the opening ceremony, UN Secretary-General António Guterres emphasized countering hatred, promoting tolerance, strengthening universal human values, preserving cultural diversity, and maintaining peace.

The UN Alliance of Civilizations fosters understanding among civilizations, religions, and peoples while promoting a culture of peace. The organization has supported Kazakhstan’s initiative to host the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. The forum concluded with the adoption of a final declaration.
