Kazakhstan Backs Dialogue and Peace at Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha

Kazakh Majilis Speaker Yerlan Koshanov has taken part in the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit held in Doha, Qatar.

Addressing the plenary session, Koshanov outlined Kazakhstan’s stance on resolving international conflicts, stressing that peace must be achieved through dialogue in line with the UN Charter and international law, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

On the sidelines of the summit, he met with Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, conveying greetings and best wishes from Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The Emir expressed gratitude for Kazakhstan’s consistent support and its position on Israel’s military actions.

Koshanov underscored that the Middle East is facing serious geopolitical challenges, noting that the emergency summit was convened in response to escalating tensions in the region. He reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s condemnation of Israel’s military actions against Qatar, adding that President Tokayev was among the first world leaders to express solidarity with Doha.

“Regardless of motives, such actions are absolutely unacceptable. They violate the sovereign rights of the State of Qatar, contradict international law, and threaten not only one country’s security but also global peace and stability,” Koshanov stated.

The speaker also drew attention to the humanitarian situation in Gaza, highlighting that President Tokayev has consistently called for an immediate ceasefire and the delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians.

According to the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Doha hosted the emergency Arab-Islamic summit on September 14-15 to discuss the repercussions of Israel’s attack on Qatari territory.
