Kazakhstan is taking steps to launch new international flights and simplify visa procedures to make overseas travel more accessible for its citizens, according to a tourism official.

Aidyn Kapashev, Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Industry Committee under the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, said the measures are aimed at improving transport connectivity with popular international destinations, The Caspian Post reports, citing Qazinform.

"Work is underway to open new international routes, increase the number of direct flights, and simplify visa procedures. This will make popular destinations significantly more accessible for Kazakhstani travelers. Air Astana is launching flights to Shanghai, Guangzhou, Larnaca, and Dalaman, while also increasing flight frequencies to Seoul and other international destinations. FlyArystan, meanwhile, plans to begin regular international flights to Urgench on September 3 and to Chongqing on September 23," Kapashev said.

According to the ministry, the most popular foreign destinations among Kazakhstan’s travelers in summer 2026 are Vietnam, Egypt, Thailand, Türkiye, China, and the Maldives.
