Kazakhstan is preparing to roll out autonomous vehicles and delivery drones as part of its push toward advanced digital technologies.
Minister of Digital Development Zhaslan Madiyev said a pilot project for self-driving cars will be launched with the participation of global tech companies, with implementation planned for the second quarter of 2026, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
The initiative is expected to involve major platforms such as inDrive and Yandex, including its regional arm Yandex Qazaqstan. Testing will take place in Astana, Almaty, and the Akmola Region.
At the same time, a separate pilot project for delivery drones is being developed under a private initiative involving Freedom Lifestyle. Drone testing is scheduled to begin in Almaty during the same period.
