Kazakh Minister of Transport Nurlan Sauranbayev has expressed Kazakhstan’s strong interest in securing long-term contracts for the supply of oil products from Azerbaijan.
Sauranbayev made these remarks at the 21st meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan held in Baku, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
“We share a truly strategic partnership in the energy sector and highly value the collaboration between SOCAR and KazMunayGas in transporting oil via the Trans-Caspian route,” Sauranbayev said.
The minister also emphasized the increasing importance of green energy cooperation, referencing the trilateral strategic partnership on renewable energy signed in November 2024 between Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan in Baku.
“We are prepared to exchange expertise in the peaceful use of nuclear energy and energy regulation,” he added.
Beyond traditional energy sectors, Kazakhstan also expressed readiness to work with Azerbaijan on the establishment of research and development centers dedicated to artificial intelligence.
