Kazakhstan Hosts Major Summit of Turkic States Leaders

The Informal Summit of the Organization of Turkic States has officially begun in Turkistan, Kazakhstan, bringing together leaders of the Turkic world to discuss artificial intelligence, digital development, and the future of regional cooperation.

The high-level gathering is being attended by the heads of member states, including Kazakh Leader Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, as the bloc focuses on strengthening economic, technological, and political ties across the region, The Caspian Post reports via Kazinform.

This year’s summit places special emphasis on artificial intelligence and digital transformation, highlighting the growing ambition of Turkic nations to position themselves within the global tech and innovation race.

Turkistan was selected as the venue due to its deep historical and spiritual significance for the Turkic world. Often described as one of the key cultural capitals of Turkic civilization, the ancient city has undergone extensive preparations in recent days ahead of the major international event.

Authorities decorated the city with flags of OTS member states, reinforced security measures, and unveiled new cultural and tourism projects as Turkistan welcomed delegations from across the region.

The summit is expected to produce new initiatives aimed at expanding cooperation in trade, transport, digital infrastructure, and emerging technologies among Turkic nations.
