President of Kazakhstan Kassym‑Jomart Tokayev has met with Secretary‑General of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Sergio Mujica at the Akorda Presidential Palace, where both sides expressed a shared commitment to expanding cooperation and exploring new avenues for joint initiatives.
During the meeting, President Tokayev lauded ISO’s role as a leading global institution shaping trade, innovation, and sustainable development, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
He underscored the promising prospects for collaboration between Kazakhstan and ISO, especially in digital transformation and sustainability initiatives.
Mujica praised Kazakhstan’s progress in strengthening its national standardization system and its proactive adoption of digital technologies. He also commended Kazakhstan’s active participation in ISO and its readiness to conform to international standards.
In a separate note, it was previously reported that President Tokayev had extended his congratulations to emergency service workers across the country in honor of Emergency Rescuer’s Day, celebrated in Kazakhstan on October 19.
