Kazakhstan Makes Strong Progress in Nationwide Harvest Campaign

Kazakhstan’s nationwide harvesting campaign is making strong headway, with farmers collecting substantial yields across the country’s key agricultural regions.

As of October 2, a total of 12.7 million hectares of grain and leguminous crops have been harvested - 79.3 per cent of the projected 16 million hectares, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.

The grain output has reached an impressive 19.8 million tons, underscoring the efficiency and pace of this year’s campaign.

In addition to grain crops, Kazakhstan’s farmers have gathered significant quantities of other produce:

1.3 million tons of oilseeds

2.4 million tons of potatoes, with an average yield of 229.2 centners per hectare

3.2 million tons of vegetables, yielding 303.1 centners per hectare

A detailed breakdown of vegetable crops harvested so far includes:

427,500 tons of cabbage at 324 centners per hectare

897,400 tons of onions at 429 centners per hectare

328,500 tons of carrots at 286.8 centners per hectare

According to the agriculture ministry, the harvesting season continues benefitting from favorable weather conditions, enabling steady progress and raising expectations for a successful completion in the weeks ahead.
