The White House has officially recognized Kazakhstan’s support for US President Donald Trump’s proposed peace initiative aimed at ending the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
The acknowledgment came as part of a recent report issued by the US administration, which listed Kazakhstan among the nations backing Trump’s 20-point plan for peace in Gaza, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s press secretary, Ruslan Zheldibay, confirmed Astana’s position, stating that the president considers the plan a “unique opportunity and a critical step” toward resolving the long-standing conflict in the region. Zheldibay noted that Kazakhstan views the proposal not only as a potential path to peace but also as a means to build mutual trust between states.
“The plan could help establish a lasting and just peace in the region,” Zheldibay said, underscoring Kazakhstan’s commitment to international dialogue and conflict resolution.
Kazakhstan’s endorsement highlights the country’s continued engagement in global peace efforts and its balanced foreign policy approach in the Middle East.
President Trump’s 20-point peace plan, though controversial, has gained traction among several nations seeking a diplomatic solution to the Israel-Hamas conflict. The initiative focuses on de-escalation, humanitarian aid, and a roadmap to long-term political stability in Gaza.
