Kazakhstan May Open New Trade Route to Türkiye via Armenia

Kazakh Minister of Economy Serik Zhumangarin has said that Kazakhstan is exploring the possibility of establishing a new trade corridor to Türkiye that would pass through Armenian territory.

Zhumangarin said the proposed route would significantly expand Kazakhstan’s regional connectivity by providing a direct link to Turkish seaports, The Caspian Post informs via Armenian media.

“Currently, we transport goods through Azerbaijan and Georgia to Black Sea ports. The new route would allow us to move through Nakhchivan and then directly into Türkiye, reaching its maritime ports,” the minister explained.

The potential corridor would mark a notable shift in regional logistics, offering Kazakhstan an additional pathway for exports and further enhancing economic ties across the South Caucasus.
