High-level consultations between the two countries’ foreign ministries brought together key officials to discuss practical steps toward closer coordination, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

The Kazakh delegation was led by Azamat Aubekov, Director of the Consular Service Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while Lilian Moraru, Head of the General Directorate for Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, headed Moldova’s side.

The talks focused on areas that directly impact citizens:

Migration policy and border management

Mutual recognition of official documents

Expansion of digital consular services

Legal assistance mechanisms under international conventions

Both sides praised the current level of cooperation and emphasized their commitment to strengthening ties based on mutual trust and international law.

With growing cross-border movement and evolving digital services, the push for closer coordination aims to make consular support faster, more accessible, and more reliable for citizens of both countries.

Officials highlighted that regular consultations like these play a key role in reinforcing bilateral relations-while ensuring the rights and interests of citizens remain fully protected.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to enhance information exchange, a step expected to further streamline consular processes and improve support systems for Kazakh and Moldovan nationals abroad.
