Kazakhstan Names New Presidential Assistant

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has issued a decree appointing Kuanyshbek Yessekeyev as Assistant to the President, relieving him of his previous position.

Born in 1975 in Almaty, Yessekeyev graduated from Al-Farabi Kazakh State University, Ryskulov Kazakh Economic University, and Hult International Business School, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

He began his professional career in 1997 as a faculty lecturer in applied mathematics at Al-Farabi Kazakh State University. From 2002 to 2003, he headed the informatization department at the Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning, followed by leadership of the information technologies department at the Ministry of Finance in 2003-2004.

Between 2004 and 2006, Yessekeyev served as Deputy Chairman of the Informatization and Communications Agency of Kazakhstan, later advancing to Chairman, a post he held from 2007 to 2010.

Most recently, on June 10, 2024, he was appointed Advisor to the President of Kazakhstan.
